About the Directors of Mosaic Foster Care:
After qualifying as a social worker in 1992, I was employed as a Deputy Manager at a Local Authority Project specialising in working with adolescents which consisted of a Residential Service and Field Work Provisions.
I became Project Manager for the residential component in 1993 and was involved with two other Residential Homes in advisory, development and supportive capacities. Also during this time I worked as a College Lecturer. In 1995 I created Kites Childrens Services and later in 2010, Mosaic Foster Care.
I qualified as a social worker in 1997 after a career in the private sector. I worked within a children’s assessment team and then as a senior practitioner within child protection for Essex County Council. In 2000 I became a Child Protection Officer with the NSPCC and later acted as manager of a specialist unit working with children and families. I have worked in Kites Children Services since 2000 and established Mosaic Foster Care in 2010.
I hold an MA in Applied Systemic Theory from the Tavistock Centre, a BA in Professional Social Work Practice, a PQ Award in Childcare and an Advanced Award in Social Work.
About the Agency
The agency was established in 2010 and merged with Kites Childrens Services Fostering in 2015, which was owned by the same Directors.
It is registered with Ofsted (Reg no. SC417598) and we are member of BAAF, Fostering Network and the National Association of Independent Fostering Agencies.
As two social work managers with an established reputation in providing residential, fostering, educational and community based services through Kites Childrens Services, the directors of Mosaic Foster care identified the need for a new type of fostering service….one that combines high quality foster care with expertise in assessment and care planning.
Our Business Structure
The Mosaic Fostering team
All managers are professionally qualified in line with the requirements of regulations and National Minimum Standards. The Directors hold a range of social work and/or management qualifications and previous social care employment suitable to their level of managerial responsibility.
All Social Workers and their managers are professionally qualified and registered individually with the Health and Care Professions Council. Many have post qualifying specialist awards and experience related to working with children and young people in foster care.
Our therapists hold appropriate qualifications, experience and membership of a training body that includes registration with a nationally recognised organisation. Our therapists have access to external clinical supervision as well as organisational line-management.
In addition to permanent staff, we have a pool of support workers who undertake work for the agency. The majority of casual workers are employed within our children and young people support service.
A number of people work for our organisation on an independent, self-employed basis across a variety of roles. For both casual and self-employed workers verification of any necessary formal qualifications in relation to the work undertaken is obtained.
All staff regardless of their employment status are subject to a rigorous recruitment process to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is safeguarded.
All those commissioned on a self employed basis hold the appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance that is checked and verified.
