Meet our Clinical (therapeutic) Lead at Mosaic Foster Care; Aly Thompson.
Aly is our full time Clinical Lead. With over 10 years as a foster parent herself, Aly has studied to Master’s level at Essex University as a psychodynamic organisational therapist.
She brings a wealth of experience, working in the charity, fostering and private sector as well as forging links in numerous not for profit organisations championing the work of trauma informed practice with children and young people.
This is in addition to her own psychodynamic practice, working with young people and adults who have experienced complex trauma.
Aly takes the lead in delivering our training program for our therapeutic model SMILE as well as providing support to our foster parents and children. She has also now established regular reflective groups for our foster parents, supervising social workers, support workers, therapists and office staff. Reflective practice is something which we really champion at Mosaic. Being able to reflect in a group about our experiences is a good way for us to validate our feelings and hear others.
Aly is affiliated with the BPC (British Psychoanalytical Council) and APPCIOS (The Association for Psychodynamic Practice and Counselling in Organisational Settings).
Having Aly as part of our organisation means that we are able to focus our offering and really get the therapy right for everyone involved.
