Types of foster care we offer

Fostering Placement Types:

Standard

These placements are offered to children and young people with few complex needs. Usually these children and young people come with their foster parents when transferring to Mosaic Foster Care.

In most cases they do not require therapy.

Specialist placements for children and young people with complex needs

This group of children and young people form the largest cohort of our service and are at the core of our service design and delivery.

Typically this group will have experienced multiple traumas resulting in emotional and behavioural difficulties. They will often have experienced multiple placement breakdowns or be at risk of developing them.

These placements require multiple support services to support them and includes but is not limited to:

  • Individual therapy for the child
  • Clinical supervision for the Foster Carers
  • Therapeutic support groups for Foster Carers
  • Case Discussion Safeguarding meetings
  • Integrated Therapy Planning meetings

We have particular expertise in responding to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse and have behavioural difficulties stemming from this, for example children with reactive sexual behaviour, sexually harmful behaviour and vulnerability to sexual exploitation.
