How long have you worked in the foster care industry?

I have worked in the foster care industry for over 25 years.

What is your favourite part of your job?

Talking to people about the work Mosaic does and the difference it makes to children's lives and those who care for or work with them. 

What do you most enjoy about working at Mosaic Foster Care?

The mutually supportive culture. Everyone here is always available for support or a discussion - no matter how big or small the issue or topic is.

What has been the most memorable moment for you in your foster care career?

I worked with 3 siblings over a 14-year period (starting off as their social worker and later on as a manager) and seeing them each grow and develop into lovely young adults who went on to start families of their own. 

What do you do to relax?

Read, listen to music, play chess, spend time with my family and cuddle with Buddy, my Maine Coon cat. 

Which quote has influenced you the most in life?

There are so many.  One that stands out is:  "don't look back, you're not heading that way".  Also, pretty much any Homer Simpson quote like, "all my life I've had one dream, to achieve my many goals". 

What does a typical work day look like?

One thing I love about Mosaic is no two days are the same for me. I am very grateful that I get to work with an amazing team to help different children achieve their potential. No two children are the same so no two days at Mosaic are the same for me!
