Supervising Social Worker.
I am new to Mosaic Foster Care, I started in March 2023 and I am absolutely loving it here. I have had the pleasure to work with young people in or leaving care in all of my varying roles within Children's Social Care and the Voluntary sector over the last 12 years. I also completed my final Social Work placement within a Leaving Care Team.
My favourite part has always been working with Children and Young people, it’s what I do it for, and my biggest passion in life.
Mosaic delivers its therapeutic promise. Children are the adults of our future, and they truly deserve investing in; at Mosaic that happens in abundance. The children have an incredibly supportive community around them. It’s a real privilege to work in an organisation like Mosaic.
When working in the voluntary sector I delivered a self-development programme. Many of the participants of the programme were in or leaving care. It was inspirational to see their growth in their self-esteem, confidence and skill set within such a short space of time and feel able to be a part of their local community. These young people went on to access education, employment and work experiences in their desired areas. Many would come back to help induct new participants on the course and show them it was possible.
I enjoy swimming and going to have steam in a sauna. I like doing skincare routines and face masks. I love watching documentaries. Meeting up with friends for coffee or meals out.
You are braver than you think, stronger than you look, more talented than you know and twice as brilliant as the brightest star!
A typical day is a varied mixture for me at the moment, training, shadowing meetings, and much of my time at present is based on getting to know the children and young people, foster parents and professional networks.
