Why Foster With Mosaic?

Why Foster

At Mosaic Foster Care, we have been meticulously matching children and foster parents for over 12 years.

Why foster with Mosaic Foster Care?

We understand the complexities that may arise when fostering a child so we have taken steps internally to ensure our core processes enable foster families to bond and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. This includes ensuring our social workers are not overloaded with high caseloads and continuing to support our foster families with practice groups, bringing together like-minded individuals within an understanding support network.

Extensive, Tailored Support for Every Family
We provide everything our foster parent’s need to help our children on their recovery journey. We support our foster parents from the point of receiving that very first enquiry. We know that having great people on hand who have the time, experience and skillset to support our foster parents, makes all the difference to the success of our placements. Our foster parents become a central part of the team around the child, and using our tried and tested processes, we ensure that our foster parents feel fully supported in their role. Our support also includes a financial reward which reflects the vital role they play, as well as offering three weeks paid holiday.
Therapeutic approach
Therapeutic Approach
Our therapeutic approach encompasses all the elements which research and experience has evidenced works for children who have had a difficult start in life. With the secure base model at the core, our SMILE model helps our foster parents to think and reflect therapeutically, seeing beyond the child’s behaviour and seeking a deeper understanding. Our staff provide the knowledge and skills to work with you and the children through our proven processes such as therapeutic supervision, reflective groups, individual therapy for children and assessment and recovery plans.
Long-term placements
Long-term Planned Placements
A fostering placement over a year in duration is deemed a ‘long-term placement’. However, at Mosaic, we often plan to ensure a child is placed up to the age of 18 years. Long-term placements are vital in ensuring a child can establish themselves within a school and make friends, and build trusting relationships with their foster parents and families. This enables them to flourish and become functioning adults with more positive learned behaviour
10 Families per Social Worker
Only 10 Families Per Social Worker
We ensure each social worker has a protected caseload to provide them with sufficient time to be available to support foster families whenever needed. A protected caseload is a maximum of 10 cases per social worker to remain as manageable as possible and as an agency, we pride ourselves on having the lowest known caseloads provided to supervisors and social workers. This allows for strong relationships to be built between the Mosaic team and the foster families in our care, as they are able to spend quality time together outside of practice groups or therapeutic sessions.
Step 5
Consistently Ofsted Outstanding
As an agency, we could not be prouder of our consistent Ofsted Outstanding rating, awarded to us again in 2022. We are delighted that the dedication and hard work of our social workers, therapists and support staff is recognised by the Government body three years in a row. The Outstanding rating is representative of the high standard of care and support we strive to provide to all our families.
